Does FFL dealer charge?

• FFL holders are open for business, which means they are not providing their services for free. Different FFL will have different rates for different services. These rates vary according to local demand and competition and the workload of the service.

• The most common service provided by FFL holders is the transfer of firearms. Since all online gun purchases must go through FFL for a background check, most FFL holders will charge a fee to process these transfers. Some charges are flat, others are charged by the gun. Some charge more for guns that may carry additional state paperwork, such as handguns. Some don't handle transfers at all. In states where face-to-face private sales are banned, FFL also conducts background checks for these transfers and charges variable fees.

Will I be able to purchase guns, ammo and other sporting goods at dealer cost after obtaining FFL?

Yes! The wholesaler will sell all the above items after you have an FFL license (tax free! I will use my other firearms business as a reference to help you build relationships and tell you which have the best prices, payment terms and options.
