What is a masked card?

A masked card is a unique, one-time, private credit card they create for an amount you specify. They're real Mastercards, and the masked cards function like prepaid gift cards you create on the fly when you shop. Masked cards can be used whenever you are reluctant to reveal your real card information.

Why is there a fee for a masked card?

Masked Cards is a premium feature, so unless you are a free trial user, you must purchase a premium subscription to access Masked Cards. If you buy Masked Cards with a credit card, there is now a $2 fee per card for all cards under $100. Additionally, for cards over $100, they will be charged a fee of 1.5% of the card value. You will also pay for each Masked Card you create so that those funds can be loaded onto your new virtual prepaid card.

Why does Blur charge?

They've been controlling various credit card processing fees, and most of them include them as part of the price of Blur's premium subscription. Unfortunately, credit card companies like VISA/MasterCard/AMEX increase their fees. These are the fees they incur every time they charge your credit card to make a masked card. For this reason, they have recently increased fees to cover these costs. After 30 days of card use, if there is still a balance, they will deduct $5.95 from the balance every 30 days until the balance is zero.

Why isn't my Masked Card refunded?

Occasionally, a masked card may report an incorrect balance, resulting in an incorrect refund amount. If this happens, please contact support and detail the amount of the masked card created and the amount that should be refunded. Unfortunately, automation isn't always perfect, but don't worry, they want to get your money back ASAP.
