Does Ting monitor the entire home or just the outlet it's plugged into?

Ting monitors your home's entire electrical system, not just the outlet the sensor is plugged into - or the circuit it's on. Once plugged in and installed, the Ting detects dangerous arcing on all household circuits, regardless of voltage - 120V or 240V. However, for homes with more than one main breaker panel (ie, with its own separate feed from the meter or utility), one Ting is required per main breaker panel. Likewise, if the sub-panel is installed in a detached or remote building, that building (i.e. barn, shed, detached garage) will require a separate Ting.

Does Ting use two-factor authentication (2FA)?

Yes. In fact, it is required, not optional. They believe this is important to help protect your account. They use two-factor authentication (2FA) when you set up your account and install the sensor (which, as you know, takes about 2 minutes in total). In fact, you can use 2FA if you need to reset your password or decide to change to a different Wi-Fi network (for example, if you changed internet providers, upgraded your Wi-Fi router, etc.). This stops attackers who might try to take control of your account and reset your password.

Is the service subscription based and how much does it cost?
