How does eToro crypto pricing work?

• When you make a cryptoasset transaction request on eToro (in other words, an order to buy or close a position), you pay a fixed fee equal to 1% of the quoted price, as indicated in the table below. 

• eToro provides two-way (buy and sell) prices to its customers. eToro’s prices are formed using various sources of pricing and liquidity, through eToroX, a DLT (distributed ledger technology) licensed trading platform affiliated with eToro EU. 

• The components that make up the two-way prices may include market spread (or feed/liquidity provider spread) plus additional fees applied by eToro.

When do I pay the fee for crypto investments?

• The impact of the spread will always be factored into a customer’s P&L immediately after the execution of a buy order and for the duration of the open position. 

• You pay the 1% fee each time you buy or sell a cryptoasset. The fees are included in the buy or sell price you see on the screen when you open or close a position. 

• Please note that the P&L for each position includes both the 1% fee you paid when you opened it and the 1% fee you WILL pay when you close it. 

• This way you can always track the performance of your crypto investments with the cost of these trading fees already accounted for. 

Why do I need to add funds to open my position?

• In order to open a new Buy or Sell position, it is necessary to have funds in your available balance.

• CFD trading is based on strategy and sentiment:

• An investor who believes that the price of an instrument will rise in value will open a BUY position.

• An investor who believes that the price of an instrument will fall in value will open a SELL position.

• By closing the position, the invested funds plus/minus any profits/losses made on the investment will be returned to your account balance.

What are overnight fees?

• An overnight fee – also called a rollover fee – is a small payment that applies if you hold a CFD position overnight. Rollover fees are part of trading CFDs and are not unique to eToro. 

• These fees reflect the forces of supply and demand driving the financial markets, covering costs associated with your position.  

• The fees vary according to the value and direction (BUY or SELL) of your position and are deducted from your available balance.

• In some instances, you may receive an overnight refund, which means that your account is credited, not debited.
