What is Streamlight C4 LED technology?

Streamlight designed the reflector with C4 photonic crystal technology to produce an intense beam of light that penetrates the darkness. As a result, you get the long runtime and indestructibility of LEDs with new brightness levels that leave other LEDs in the dark.

What is the difference between candela and lumens?

Lumen is a measure of the total amount of light output from a given light source. It is not a measure of the amount of light focused in one direction. Candela is the actual measure of the brightness emitted by a light source in a focused beam. If you want a light to illuminate a large area or are concerned about power or energy efficiency, check the lumen rating. If you want a lamp with a focused beam, see the candela rating.

What brand of batteries should I use?

Do not use batteries that are not made in the USA, mix old and new batteries, mix different brands of batteries, or use disposable batteries marked "PRC" or "Made in China". Use the lamp manufacturer's original brand of batteries or Panasonic, Duracell or PowerSense batteries. Use of any other brand may void your warranty. Do not use both rechargeable and disposable batteries. 

What parts of my flashlight need maintenance?

• You will need to maintain your tailcap head and threads, O-rings, and battery compartment.

• Use a cloth, paper towel or similar absorbent material to clean the threads of the tailcap and head. Clean the flat surface at the end of the threaded section and the corresponding area inside the tailcap to ensure positive electrical contact between the tailcap, head and body. Remove the battery and clean the battery compartment using a cloth, paper towel, or similar absorbent material.

• Remove any dirt or debris from the O-ring and use a cotton swab or similar cleaning tool. Lightly lubricate the O-ring with a silicone grease, such as Nyogel or SCUBA device grease. Lubricate only the o-ring, not the threads.

• Do not use spray lubricants or petroleum- based lubricants. Do not use acidic, alkaline or petroleum solvents to clean any part of your lamp.
