How ofthen will they test?

• They frequently test at locations throughout the Pacific Northwest and as they expand to other regions, in those areas as well. 

• They also offer nationwide testing for the written test through a network of certified testing centers.

When doed the eligibility list expire?

• With continuous testing, the eligibility list itself does not expire, the names on the list do. 

• You will maintain a continuous list, and they can provide you model civil service rules (at no charge) to adopt this method. 

• Individual candidate names on the list expire 12 months after they are certified. 

• This ensures you will always have an up-to-date list with the best candidates at the top whenever you have a hiring need.

Is it expensive for applicants?

• As is common in many professions, they charge the applicant a testing fee for the convenience and flexibility of their services. 

• In their research with many candidates in the development of their services, it was clear that the traditional testing process was extremely costly in terms of opportunity costs for missed work, out-of-pocket travel expenses, individual agency fees, and more. 

• To say nothing of the impossibility of being at two separate locations when agencies were conducting tests on the same day.

What if I'm unable to afford the testing fee?

• PST is committed to providing testing fee waivers to candidates with demonstrated need. 

• To apply for a testing fee waiver, you must show proof of a verifiable financial hardship. Once they receive your completed testing fee waiver form, they will evaluate it and respond to you as soon as possible. 

• Fee waivers are subject to the approval of Public Safety Testing and/or the agencies to which you apply. 

• PST carefully reviews each fee waiver request before making a decision. Please submit this form at least two weeks before your desired test date.
