What is their warranty policy like?
Seagate will provide a limited warranty for Seagate products based on the published limited warranty period. If you purchased the product in a member state of the European Economic Area, you will be covered by the applicable product warranty or two years, whichever is longer. If they authorize you to return your product to them or an authorized service provider, Seagate will replace your product with a functionally equivalent replacement product free of charge. Seagate may replace your product with a product previously used, recertified and tested to Seagate specifications. Seagate will pay a fee to ship the replacement product to you.
How does return work?
You must pay shipping for all goods you send to them. Send your product to Seagate using the carrier of your choice. Please use a method that can track the shipment. Seagate is not responsible for loss or damage in transit. They recommend that you purchase freight insurance for your shipment. Seagate RMA (Return Material Authorization) numbers issued are only valid for returns of Seagate products that are not eligible under warranty. Replacement products have the greater of the original warranty balance or 90 days. No pickup shipments will be accepted without prior authorization from Seagate. Shipments arriving at Seagate with a fee due will be rejected.
How do they package my product?
A single internal, external and SSD device.
Place the media in an antistatic bag or similar material to prevent ESD.
Put the drive in a bubble wrap envelope or a box lined with bubble wrap.
Do not use packing pellets, peanuts, air pockets or newspapers.
Place the packing slip inside the package and seal the box with nylon or vinyl tape along all edges and openings.
Put the label on the outside of the package.
