What if I accidentally order the wrong product?

It's ok. As long as the product is returned unused, you will be refunded the full price of the product. However, they are running a business because it is your fault and you will be responsible for all shipping costs. They have to pay UPS to ship it to you, and you have to return it to them to receive a refund.

How often do I need to change my pool filter?

This depends on several factors, such as the type of filter you have (cartridge, DE, or sand), how much the pool is used, whether the pool is filtering in the open or in the open, the amount of leaves or debris entering the pool, etc. All of these help determine how often you should change the filter.

• For cartridge filters, the best indicator they recommend is to look at the filter pressure gauge. The pressure of the new cartridge should be 8 to 12 psi. A good rule of thumb is to flush the filter every time the pressure reaches 20 psi. The velocity of the water coming out of the pool sprinkler is another indicator. If your water flow is noticeably slowing down, it may be time to clear out the pump basket, clean the filter, or replace the filter. 

• For DE filters, grids usually last a long time, sometimes 3, 4, 5 or even 7 or 8 years is not unheard of. A sign that the DE mesh needs to be replaced is seeing DE particles in the pool. Often the mesh will tear with age and leak DE particles into your pool.

• If there is algae in the pool, it will almost certainly destroy your cartridge filter. After pushing a lot of algae into the filter, no matter how many times you flush the filter, you will find it difficult to keep the pressure of the filter below 20 psi. If the pressure rises to 20 psi or higher within hours or days of flushing the filter, it is time to buy a new filter.
