Modern Fabrics Frequently Asked Questions

How does Modern Fabrics package the order?

  • They use flat rate boxes to ship your fabrics whenever possible and appropriate.

  • Most fabric orders under 4 yards will be shipped in cases, but they will use their best judgment and if the fabric is not suitable for folding, they will roll it up and ship it.

  • For orders over 4 yards, the fabric is almost always shipped in a roll.

  • Most of the leather will be shipped in boxes.

  • If you have any special request, please feel free to call.


How long does it take for my order to deliver?

  • Fabric is shipped Monday through Friday using USPS Priority Mail and UPS Ground. 

  • You should expect your fabric to arrive 3 to 10 days from the day you placed your order. 

  • If you are on the west coast of the USA your order will take at least 7 days to arrive. 

  • You can call them to make arrangements for expedited shipping.


Does Modern Fabrics  offer international shipping?

  • Yes. They are now shipped to Canada, Europe, Australia and New Zealand. The reading directions are as follows:

  • Orders shipped outside the United States must be sent by email or telephone. 

  • The best way is to continue email them with your order and shipping address and they will reply to you within 24 hours with a complete order and shipping quote.

  • Then you can call them at your convenience to tell them the payment information.

  •  Shipping rates will be based on fabric weight and ship to destination. You will be responsible for any taxes and duties on the border.


Can I return an unsatisfied item?

  • Sorry. Due to the nature of their fabric remnant collection business, Modern Fabrics Company does not accept returns.

  • All fabric they sell is first quality and in perfect condition. They inspect all rolls before they are listed online and again before they ship them out to you. 

  • If they find any minor flaws they mark them on the fabric and they will call you to discuss them before shipping the fabric. 

  • They will offer refunds or discounts or any flaws to make sure you are satisfied with your purchase.

  • All fabric is guaranteed free of mold damage, smoke or tobacco odor, water damage, sun or wind damage.
