How many bill credits can I receive through referring a friend?

• There are no limits. For every eligible referral that is successful, you get a $50 bill credit. It's that simple. 
  

• All you need is your unique Refer-a-Friend ID which can be found on your Direct Energy statement or within your Online Account Manager.
  

• The $50 bill credit will be applied specifically to the usage kWh portion of your bill and cannot be used to satisfy the payment of fees and/or service charges.
  

How to set up an Automatic Payment Rule?

• Select the "Automatic Payments" link from the left side menu.
  

• Choose your account number from the drop down menu.
  

• Press the "Go" button.
  

• Click on the "Add Automatic Payment" button at the top right of the screen
  

• Select the payment method to use for making Automatic Payments and submit.
  

How can I be eligible for the Reduce Your Use Rewards?

• You're eligible to participate in the Reduce Your Use Rewards program if you are a current Direct Energy customer, live in Texas, have a smart meter, and are serviced by either Oncor, Centerpoint, AEP Central, or AEP North.
  

• You can enroll by logging into your MyAccount and clicking on the "Reduce Your Use Rewards Program" link in your Online Account Manager.
  

What are the criteria for a Deferred Payment Plan?

• No Insufficient Funds payments in the last 30 days;
  

• No more than two (2) Insufficient Funds payments on your account in the last 12 months;
  

• No Broken Payment Extensions in the last 90 days;
  

• No Broken DPP's in the last six (6) months; and
  

• You make the required 50% Down payment.
  

• A DPP can only be set up for the entire balance. A DPP arrangement can be set up for two to five equal installments. The balance will show as a past due amount on the bill until the DPP is completed and paid in full. 

How does a Payment Extension work with Direct Energy?

• The Payment Extension option is a short-term extension of the due date for the full payment of your past-due balance. 
  

• The Payment Extension provides you assurance that your account will not receive collections activity or be disconnected during the terms of your extension agreement. 
  

• As opposed to a Deferred Payment Plan (DPP), this is not a structured long-term process for settling any past-due balance. 
  

• A Payment Extension is offered to you if you are less than seven (7) days after your bill due date.
