How to request a ride？
Riders can request rides through the Lyft app or on the web.
- Requesting rides in the app: (1) Tap 'Search destination' and enter your drop-off location. (2) Select your preferred ride type. You can learn more about different types of rides at Lyft ride modes overview. (3) Tap 'Select Lyft'. (4) Confirm or change your pickup location before tapping 'Confirm and request'.
- Requesting rides on the web: (1) Go to ride.lyft.com. (2) Enter the pickup and drop-off locations. (3)Select 'Ride details' to choose your desired ride type. (4)Select 'Request a Lyft ride'.
How to rate your driver?
After each ride, you can rate your driver and give feedback. All feedback is anonymous, and it's reviewed before it's shared with drivers. You'll see your driver's rating when you request a ride, and they can see your rider rating too.
You can rate your driver on a scale of 1 to 5 stars, with 5 being the highest. If you rate a driver 3 stars or lower, you won't be paired with them again. Rate your driver on the 'Rate & Pay' screen at the end of each ride.
How to share ride info?
On your way to meet a friend? After requesting a ride, tap 'Send ETA' to send them a text with an in-app link to your current route and location. If a friend sends you their ETA, you'll be able to see the following:
Progress toward the destination
- A photo of the driver
- Vehicle color, make, and model
- License plate number
Can I use Lyft Gift Cards of payment?
- You can pay using Lyft gift cards on all Lyft rides in the US. Whether it's a retailer or a digital gift card, you can redeem it through Lyft Cash in your app.
- When sending a digital gift card, they’ll email the recipient with a link that adds the gift card to their account. This email will also have a gift card code, which they can enter in their Lyft app.
