How much do you charge for shipping?

All products shipped within the continental them are eligible for free standard shipping. For locations outside the continental them or expedited shipping, please call for a shipping quote. 

Where are your worms grown?

Currently their black soldier fly larvae are grown in canada and their mealworms are grown in china.  China is the largest supplier of dried mealworms in the world and they have perfected their processes. There are very limited suppliers in the usa and, unfortunately, none of them produce mealworms in the volume they need.  They use multiple quality control steps including annual visits to their suppliers to ensure their products are of the highest quality.

Do chickens like mealworms (and your other bugs)?

They highly recommend mealworms for chickens. Chickens go wild for dried mealworms. Dried mealworms are recommended for people who enjoy watching chickens eat out of their hands, and are much more affordable than live mealworms. Chickens really seem to be able to distinguish mealworms from regular feed, and will come running when they see you coming with a familiar bag of dried mealworms. Chickens also like their black solider fly larvae, superworms, crickets, darkling beetles, and gammarus shrimp.

What is the shelf life of your products and how should i store them?

Their products typically have a 2 year shelf life. It is best to keep them sealed in an air tight container in a cool dry place. They do not recommend keeping them in the refrigerator or freezer. Refrigerating or freeze can cause unwanted moisture to collect inside the bag which can lead to mold or bacteria growth. 

What other animals eat your products?

Their products can not only be fed to chickens, but turkeys, guineas, ducks, geese, hedgehogs, wild birds and some reptiles eat their bugs. However, their Treat Blocks are designed for poultry or wild birds.
