Why do I need to pay a fee to borrow Points?

If you do not have enough Points in your balance to book a Points Swap, you are able to borrow them from them for a small fee. The fee increases depending on the amount of Points you wish to borrow. This is an additional service that is not included with your annual membership. As such, there is a fee associated with this, as they feel it is important to have measures in place to discourage members from borrowing excessive amounts of Points that they would struggle to repay by hosting other members in their home.   

What are Points?

• Points are their virtual swap currency and allow greater flexibility in how you swap your home. A Classic Swap takes place when two members stay in each other's homes: you go to them, they come to you (either at the same time, or on different dates).  But by using Points instead, you can travel without having to match your plans with other members. You can earn Points by hosting members in your home. These Points can then be spent by staying at other members’ homes around the world. 

• For example, if you’d like to swap to London but the other member doesn’t want to stay in your home, or they will be away on holiday during your preferred dates, they could still host you for Points. They get some Points for their next trip and you get to stay in their home! Please note: a small fee may be charged for booking Points Swaps, based on the number of nights you choose to stay. How does the free trial work?

For the perfect opportunity to see if home swapping is for you, you can use the site just like a member for two weeks – completely free of charge! During these two weeks, you can set up your home’s listing, explore the wide variety of homes that are available worldwide and get in touch with any of their members to start arranging swaps. Then when you become a paid member, you can book your trip. At the end of your two weeks, your trial will become a paid annual membership. However, if you decide that home swapping isn’t for you and you decide not to continue after your trial, you can simply cancel online.
